Yesterday we started several DIY projects.

I am so excited to say my reclaimed looking shelves are done!

I Have A Garden Again-- The Landscape Is In!

But the landscaping was put in this week and I had to share!

It's beautiful this week in Alabama.

 I honestly don't remember what I shared with you last time...
but so much has changed since then!

 We are about three weeks from the big move in day!

  I love how bright the counters and back splashes are!

August House Update....

Okay it is time to get the blog caught up on the new build!

When we last spoke we were bricking the house.

Now all the trim is up and since this picture we have garage doors.

Finally --- The Brick Revealed!

So over the last couple weeks I've been a bit worried over our brick and how it would look.

Our new home is all brick, so this is a pretty big deal.

Because when it arrived it did not look exactly like how the sample we picked out looked.

First Pictures of the New House (Construction Updates #1)

After two months of getting approvals and such...

We officially began construction the middle of May on our new home.

This was the end of last week.... I shared this on FB and Instagram that they had started framing.

It was neat to see the rooms laid out.

 And here is less than a week later.

Let's Talk About The Brick Color....

Hello again and welcome back!

These past few days have been a whirlwind of design choices.

It has been fun, confusing and time consuming.

 One thing I knew is that I did not want any plain solid colored brick.

So when I saw the "Aspen" with a brown tinted base and smeared grouted accents...

I fell in love.

Ceiling Fans and More Lighting Decisions....

Hello again... more design decisions today.

I went to the lighting center and wow....

There is a mind blowing amount to choose from.

I knew this, but the size of this shop was amazing.

Okay, I am taking risks this time!

I love the three blade fan shown above.

It is 60 inches across and so neat.

I have the girls vote... hope hubby likes it too.

Picking Out Pretty Lighting...

Today I wanted to share a few lighting choices.... 

I love how many wonderful options we all have now a days.....

In the entire house I am doing rubbed bronze/brown metals.

So even if the pics don't show it... it will be in bronze.  

This first is a lantern style and I really like it.
I am thinking of using it over my island.
It is huge, and will make quite a statement.

This past week we finalized our design choices and I am so excited to share them with you!

I love the soft, comfortable feel of them.  

Hopefully very welcoming.

They look old world and aged... love!

Making Decorating Decisions.... The Color Pallette and Design

2814 square feet.... doesn't sound so big...

but somehow its huge when you're picking out every square inch of it.

Yes, tomorrow is a long awaited day... 

Our appointment at the design center at Stoneridge Homes.

It has been a long two months coming for me to drive myself nuts about colors.

The walls were really simple... three colors... 

Repose Grey - SW 7015

Main Color----a greige (bit of beige) great room, kitchen, entry, hall.

Krypton SW 6247

a grey with blues... master bedroom, master bath, dining.

Monorail Silver- SW 7663

a true grey...for kids rooms, bathrooms, utility, study.

Okay, good start....

Spring In Alabama....And Big News

Hello again, I know it has been too long again.

A lot has happened since we last chatted.

Its been a little over a week since we emptied out our Indiana farmhouse.

It was exhausting and emotional.  But it is all in the bigger plan.

Part of my heart will always be in Indiana with family and friends.

But it is a welcomed, warm feeling of hopefulness that I have now.

Spring is beautiful in Huntsville.

There are blooming trees and plantings everywhere.

One of the first things I noticed is all the landscape in the area.

Not just homes, but along freeways, parking lots and businesses.

I love all the lushness and cozy hometown feel.

Plus daffodils bloomed before Valentines Day... crazy right?
